Job Title: Advanced Data modeler

Duration: 7 Months

Location: Lewisville, TX

Job Description:                   

Position Summary:

·         Design all new/changing data structures in the Merchant Services - Helix Interact environment.
·         Reduce the risk of implementing new/changing data structures in the Merchant Services - Helix Interact environment.
·         Optimize the utilization of data assets by governing investments via a data blueprint.
·         Ensure all technology directions create a positive customer experience.
·         Define data from a business perspective, including business data content classification

Essential Functions:

·         Design, model and implement data solutions that meet the business needs and risk tolerance criteria of the enterprise.
·         Comfortable working with both Product/Information Owners and Application Development teams to fully understand data usage and lineage throughout its entire lifecycle
·         Ensure changes to the data domain generated by the department are compatible and compliant to the data blueprint and architectural standards.
·         Participate in ongoing SCRUM for departmental projects as the data architecture representative.
·         Communicate findings and recommendations effectively and efficiently throughout the department, as well as the central architecture group.

Other Responsibilities:

·         Enforce data architectural standards via the Data Review Board and participation in all Helix data domain changes that create new data stores or modify existing data stores.
·         API/Message modeling to map the flow of data within the domain

Education, Experience, And Skills Required:

·         Logical + Physical Data Modeling experience is a must with a minimum of 3 years’ experience, 5+ preferred
·         ERwin experience is a must
·         Hands on experience with one or more DBMS systems such as: Oracle, SQL Server, Cassandra, etc. (NoSQL technologies are greatly preferred)
·         Experience with robust, operationally sound production environments is preferred.
·         Experience with very large event-driven databases is preferred.
·         Experience with large scale development projects, Internet development experience, large integration projects.
·         Knowledge of system development lifecycle methodologies, such as AGILE, Scrum
·         Experience with change management and deployment of database changes is a must (Automation & DevOps familiarity preferred)
·         Demonstrated ability to investigate and learn new technologies and products is preferred.
·         Understanding of distributed environments and Cloud based infrastructure (AWS, Cloud Foundry)
